Carbon Chrome Tubing

Carbon Chrome Tubing manufactured from an alloy containing a high proportion of chrome, typically greater than 13%. Chrome tubing is classified as a corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) and is used where the wellbore conditions or reservoir fluid create a corrosive environment that conventional tubing cannot safely withstand.

What is Carbon Chrome Tubing made of?

Chrome Moly products are named so due to the presence of the two elements Chromium (Cr) and Molybdenum (Mo). Cr increases the material’s resistance to corrosion and oxidation, and raises the material’s strength at high temperatures.

Is chrome a metal or steel?

Chrome is metal core plated with a thin chromium veneer. Standard chrome hardware has a polished surface that shines like a mirror and reflects light in the same way.
